Just a FYI, my email is down and may be that way for the next 72 hours. I don't know exactly how long the original problem has been going on, apparently my emails were not actually being sent even though they were showing as being sent. I did wonder why no one was responding but didn't recognize that there was a real problem until this morning. I called Comcast, thought it was fixed, was able to send 1 email and then it all just went haywire and now I cannot send or receive emails on any of my accounts. So, if you have sent something to me and I didn't respond, you know why. They said 24 to 72 hours to get it fixed :(
If you want to get ahold me, leave a comment :)

Hello Again!!
So, I had less then a day to get everything for "real" camping packed up and ready to go. Royce wanted to go to Lake Ellen, and we had driven up there to check it out a couple days earlier. Very scenic, especially once you get off the highway and start up the dirt roads to the campgrounds. The road is high in the hills on the north bank of the Columbia River and the views are spectacular.
Here, Colby got his opportunity to live the life that all little 4 year old boys dream about. He got to run around near naked, didn't have to take a bath (he would probably say that is the BEST part about Camping), got to eat smores and drink pop.
And, he actually caught his first Fish!!
Actually, he caught the FIRST Fish, with his little Spiderman Fishing Pole (who knew that Spiderman likes to go fishing?). In reality, he was a bit grossed out by it but his Dad was sooooo proud of him. Royce has been dreaming of him and Colby being fishing buddies since we found out I was having a boy. Of course, Colby's patience for it soon ran out but we had brought a portable DVD player that my sister had given us and he lounged in the back of the truck, watching movies and eating junk food for the remainder of the day.
He has the life.
Anywhoo, so now were back, I dont even want to try to figure out what we spent on Camping this last week because Im sure I will be mortified. Luckily we did sell a car prior to going so it wasnt money that came out of our regular budgets.
And, when I got back I saw that Albertson's had put 3 more doubler's in the Sunday Paper!!! YAAA!!! And then my sweet dear neighbor, Mary, came over and gave me her doublers and coupons from the Paper too so I got 6 doublers burning a hole in my pocket.

Hello
Hello North Spokane!
This is my first-ever-time blogging so thanks for stopping by to check it out. It will (obviously) be a work in progress....
Why am I doing this? Well, let me tell you....
A couple weeks ago there was an article in the Wednesday paper about this Lady here in Spokane that was getting all kinds of great deals by shopping with coupons. I was intrigued, Ive always used coupons but she's got it worked out to a downright science! Included in this article was the internet address of another local Lady who has been blogging about her coupon shopping skills. I was hooked, she is finding these great deals and sharing the info with everyone. She is feeding her family for $50.00 - sometimes less- per week. Amazing! Her blog is awesome. Click her button and check it out yourself.
As I mentioned, she finds all these great deals. She manages to match sales with coupons and even post the links to more coupons that you can print of of the internet. I doubt my blog is going to get that intense, but I did figure that I could start sharing some of the deals I have found and invite other northsiders to share their deals finds as well.
Like today, I went to the Shadle Walmart. Not exactly my favorite store to go to, place can be kind of scary sometimes but I wanted to pick up a couple things they had on ad that I had coupons for. This is what I got:
2 boxes of Delux Kraft Mac and Cheese - 2/$3.00
2 boxes of CrunchnMunch - 2/$2.00
1 bottle of Kraft Ranch salad dressing - $1.58
Total: $6.58
LESS:
$1.50 off 2 boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese
$1.00 off 2 boxes of CrunchnMunch
$1.50 off 1 16 oz. or larger size bottle of Kraft salad Dressing
Total $4.00 in coupons, bringing the grand total to $2.58
I'll be honest, Im totally impressed with myself :)
So, I now have a goal. I, too, am going to attempt to feed my family for $50.00 or less per week. This will be a challenge, and, I admit, this will not be an easy thing to do. For starters, my husband is a butcher and I have literally caught him sneaking meat home. Yes, he does get good deals, but honestly, who really needs a case of hotdogs? The upside of this is we never pay full price for meat and we have a totally stuffed freezer.
(By the way, I could use some good hotdog recipes...)
First thing tommarrow I am going to plan a menu based on what I have and what is going on sale this week. Check back next week to see how I do!
