Favs of the week 10/7 - 10/13 sales

October 7, 2009

I decided a couple days ago that I am going to try something new. Instead of doing individual posts about sales at specific stores, Im going to make a list of my favorites from each store, since I shop at several different ones anyway. I have been finding alot more deals in the stores thanks to notes and comments from readers (Thank you all!) and also, now that my son has started pre-school I have a little more time to spend in each store I go to, and Im finding more deals that way too. So, here goes, my first "Favs of the week" post!

This is the first time I have received a weekly flyer from this store. Its important to remember that this market chain does NOT accept coupons. But, you can still find some great deals there.

Arm and Hammer Essentials cleaners, 2 for $1.00. I dont think I could beat that even with a coupon. I bought 10, enough to get me through the winter. These are the ones that come with an empty spray bottle and a little container of concentrated cleaning solution that will make 32 oz. of cleaner. There are 3 kinds, Cleaner/Degreaser, Glass Cleaner and Multi-surface.

Yellow Onions, 3 lbs. for .99 cents.

Safeway:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday Only:

Tillamook Cheese, 2lb loaf, $3.99

Wishbone Salad Dressing, .99 cents each

NV Nut Clusters (of course!), 2 for $5.00 - see the previous post :)

Happy2bFrugal has all the killer coupon match-ups at Safeway this week.

Yokes:

81% Lean ground beef, $1.67 lb.

Chiquita Bananas, .28 cents lb.

Halloween Candy, $1.88 a bag
$1.00/1 Nestle coupons HERE
$1.00/3 Hersheys, Reeses or Kit Kat MFR (9/27 ss) exp. 10/17 - not a great coupon but it could be better if Albies has doublers on Sunday.

Rosauers:
Rosauers is having a 13 hour Meat Sale on Thursday.
Thursday only:
Beef T-bone steak, $4.99 lb.
Large Wild Shrimp, 36 - 40 ct (thats considered large?) $3.99 lb.

Weekly ad:

Fresh Express Iceburg Garden Salad, .99 cents each

C & H Pure Cane Sugar, 5 lb. bag, $2.69 each
.35 cents MFR (8/30 rp) exp. 11/30

Albertsons:

This week Albertsons is doing another "Save $5 when you buy 10" on Quaker Products. There is a $3.00 off 5 MFR coupon in the Yokes Monthly Sales booklet (usually found at the customer service booth). Happy2bFrugal has great Quaker coupon match-ups HERE. Thanks Michele :)

Wait...Did I just get paid to buy Nut Clusters?

October 7, 2009

Gosh...I think I did!

Thanks to JoDee letting me know that Nut Custers are on sale at Safeway 2 bags for $5.00, and being that my husband polished off the last bag I got for doing my give-away earlier this month I decided to go over and grab a couple more bags.

2 Nut Clusters = $5.00

- $1.60 x 2 PRINTABLE = $3.20 = $1.80 (looks like it still might be available, Thanks again Happy2bfrugal!)

- $1.00 x 2 Cellfire and shortcuts e-coupons = $2.00 = +.20 cents....

But then, something weird happened, so weird that it totally distracted me and I almost forgot to pick up my groceries and started leaving the store...another .40 cents e-coupon came off the total as well! And I didn't even know I had that one loaded on my club card....

So, I was paid .60 cents to buy 2 bags of Nut Clusters...

BTW, Safeway is also doing the Pillsbury OYNO promo, but their prices are quite a bit higher then Freddies right now. Grands! and Crescents are $2.49 each with the club card.

Pillsbury prices at Fred Meyer & e-coupon info

October 7, 2009

Here is a list of prices for the Pillsbury products that qualify for the OYNO. I got this list from the Fred Meyer on Francis Ave. Im hearing that the OYNO promo is also working at Safeway and Albertsons, but I haven't tried it in those stores so I can't say for sure.

Pillsbury Sweet Rolls = $2.07

Grands! (refridgerated) = $2.49

Cinnamon Rolls = 3 for $5.00

Pizza Crust = $3.29

Pie Crust = $3.79 (ouchie)

FM on Francis discontinued carrying the bread sticks.

Save $1/2 Shortcuts Italian Breads, including loafs, pizza crust, breadsticks and dinner rolls (Im thinking this might include the crescent rolls, because I can't find another e-coupon on shortcuts that is specifically for the crescents - if I am mistaken will someone please let me know)

Save $1/2 Cellfire crescent rolls, Italian breads, Grands! and cookies.

Fred Meyer is starting to get weirded out over the e-coupons :( A couple days ago, I noticed that my e-coupon for the Cottonelle toilet paper messed up the store coupon in that the SC was adjusted to .75 cents instead of taking the full $1.00 off for one of the packages. I told Crystal at Frugal Chic Living about it, she went and tried it and the same thing happened to her! She scanned her receipt and put it up on her post so you can see for yourself what happened. Long story short, there is no additional savings when using e-coupons with store coupons!

The Pillsbury deal at Fred Meyer

October 6, 2009

I know, I know, here I go with the Fred Meyers again....

Ok, I just wanted to do a follow up on the Pillsbury catalina deal that is going on at Fred Meyers this week.

In my previous post, I mentioned that the cellfire e-coupon for the Pillsbury grands might also come off the total, but I am glad to report that it DOES NOT. The reason Im glad? Because its not the product that is on sale and technically should not come off if your buying the crescent rolls. Whatever is happening with the Nature Valley Nut Cluster e-coupons is some kind of glitch, which is to be expected periodically when a new system or program goes into action.

I still did get my Pillsbury Crescent rolls for free :) Here is the math:

Pillsbury Crescent rolls on sale (no store coupon required), 3 for $5.00
- $1.00 PRINTABLE x 3 = $3.00
= $2.00
*Received a $2.00 OYNO for buying 3. So, I did put out $2.00 cash, but got it back on the OYNO. I just checked and it looks like this coupon is still available, I can't print it again because I printed my limit before. If you need to print it from Foxfire, see this POST for the link.

There are also other coupons and Pillsbury Products that will work with this Catalina deal. Your mileage will vary, depending on which products you buy and how many. I recommend checking Hot Coupon World or A Full Cup for a complete list of available coupons.

Qualifying Pillsbury Products are:
  • Crescent Rolls
  • Sweet Rolls
  • Grands! Biscuits and Cinnamon Rolls
  • Pie Crust
  • Dinner Rolls
  • Bread Sticks
  • Pizza Crust

Buy 3 qualifying products = $2.00 OYNO

Buy 4 qualifying products = $2.50 OYNO

Buy 5 qualifying products = $3.00 OYNO

Im going to FM again today (for a few more pouches of Free Tuna) and I will try to remember to make a list of the prices for the other items on this catalina deal....so there will probably be another Fred Meyer Post :)~

Fred Meyer Picks 10/4 - 10/10

October 4, 2009Seriously, it's impossible to do any better then the ACD when it comes to the weekly Fred Meyer coupon match ups so Im just going to put up my favorite picks for this week.
  • Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, 3 for $5.00

You know what this means? Free Crescent rolls! Print your $1.00 off 1 coupons IE HERE and Fox Fire HERE. (thanks again, Happy2bfrugal) They are bricks coupons so you can print 2, and if you have access to another computer you can get as many as you need because when you buy 3, you will get a $2.00 OYNO! So, pay $2.00 for 3 Crescent rolls, get the $2.00 OYNO = FREE!!

It is also possible that the Cellfire e-coupon for the $1/2 Pillsbury Frozen grands might work with this as well. If anyone recalls what happened with my NV Nutcluster purchase when I bought 2 bags and a .40 cent e-coupon for NV granola came off....Im just saying, don't expect it but dont be suprised.

  • Bar-S Bacon, 2 for $4.00 - $1.00/2 Printable HERE = 2 for $3.00
  • Kraft Shredded cheese, 3 for $5.00 ($1.67 each) - $1.00/2 Manufacturers coupon from the Albertsons 9/30 ad = 2 for $2.34 or $1.17 each. (This is a valid MFR, exp. 10/6, it scans at FM, just trim them neatly so that the Albertsons logo doesn't show to avoid any hassle from the cashiers...you didn't hear this from me)
  • Nabisco Snack Crackers, $1.99 each - $1.00 PRINTABLE for Wheat Thins = .99 cents each.
  • Darigold Butter, 2 for $4.00 - .40 cents/1 Blinkies (these have been spotted everywhere) = $1.60 each.
  • Alexia Fries, 2 for $4.00 ($2.00 each) - .75 cents for the Spicy Sweet Potato Fries PRINTABLE = $1.25 each (not sure if this flavor is included)

Here's a couple other things that caught my eye...

Duraflame logs, 6 ct, $16.99 each - $3.00 PRINTABLE = $13.99 each

Maxlite CFL Light Bulbs, $1.99 each

Brita replacement water filter, 1 ct., $6.00 - $1.00 PRINTABLE = $5.00 each (thats almost half off)

And, Keana C., who is the Fred Meyer Deal Queen from Puyallup, left a comment on this post about another Glade deal she found, here is what she said:

"psst....found another great glade deal.

Buy 2 glade scented oil tins at FM for $2.50 each. Use 2 $1.50/1 coupons found inside tins. Buy 2 Glade scented oil refill packs, use 2 blinkie coupons located near product for "buy tin get refill pack free".

Total comes to $2 plus tax Plus, submit for $5 SC Johnson Rebate. This makes a $3 moneymaker! I did this at the Puyallup Fred Meyer."

Go HERE for the $5.00 Rebate form (ty Frugal Chic)

So, Spokane FM deal Queens, keep your eyes open for this Glade Money Maker and if you find it, please post a comment with the prices and store you found it at :)

Super cheap Hamburger Helper

October 3, 2009

Dang it! This is what I get for being all excited about getting cheap Hamburger Helper. Had I not been in such a hurry, I could have gotten 3 boxes for .19 cents a box!!

So, if you still have the Hamburger Helper coupon from yesterdays paper for the Fred Meyer 3 day sale and want to score some super cheap Hamburger Helper here is a scenerio for you.
  • Go the Shortcuts.com and load the .75 cents/3 Hamburger Helper e-coupon onto your Fred Meyer card.
  • Then click HERE to print another .75 cents/3 Hamburger Helper coupon, or if you have any from the Sunday paper those will work too.
  • Stack on the Fred Meyer 3 day sale coupon that is for Hamburger Helper for .69 cents per box.

The shortcuts e-coupon will only work once, but you will still end up getting 3 boxes for .19 cents each, there is a limit of 6 on the FM coupon so if you want all all of them you will end up paying $1.89 for 6 boxes, making them .31 cents each.

Cheap cake and Kleenex deal at Safeway

October 2, 2009

If you are planning on going into Safeway today to pick up on the Kleenex deal that Happy2BFrugal talks about HERE then keep your eyes peeled for a deal that our sharp eyed reader JoDee found at both the Shadle and NW BLVD Safeway stores.

JoDee is reporting that she found Pillsbury Yellow Cake Mix with butter for $1.89 BUT Buy one get THREE FREE!! That makes them .47 cents each!! If your going for this deal make sure you pick the Yellow Cake Mix with Butter.
Thank You JoDee!

So, what could you do with all the cake mix...besides the obvious making of a cake? How about cookies!!

Cake Mix Cookie Recipe
1 box of cake mix
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
2 Eggs
2 C. of any of the following: Chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, pb chips, chopped walnuts or pecans, rice crispy cereal, raisins, coconut...what ever floats your boat :)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, mix together cake mix, oil and eggs, stir in your additional ingredients. At this point, you can form them into little balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet or if your like me, just drop rounded spoonfuls on the cookie sheet. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes for soft cookies, or 13 to 15 minutes for crunchy cookies. Cool on a wire rack.

Enjoy!
